Habitat for Humanity Armenia is the national office of Habitat for Humanity International founded on the conviction that everyone should have a decent, safe, affordable place to live. Habitat for Humanity Armenia extended the impact of the international office starting in 2000 by supporting the renovation and repair of low income family homes. Since 2008 Habitat Armenia improved their ability to accomplish these tasks by leveraging donations and microfinance loans provided by partnerships with a variety of financial institutions, affordable housing advocates, volunteers and donors. Through the work of Habitat for Humanity Armenia, 5000 low-income families have found new hope in the form of affordable housing. 200,000 people have found strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter. More recently Habitat for Humanity Armenia has increased their stake in affordable housing by helping to institutionalize energy efficiency in the county. By partnering with financial institutions, local municipalities, as well as international organizations, home owner associations and tenants of residential buildings, Habitat Armenia initiates substantial sustainable energy projects in residential sector. Habitat for Humanity Armenia is committed to helping to advocate and improve housing for people of all nationalities, gender or background; people of all faiths or no faith; and people with construction skills or no skills.
