Legal Committee Meeting

On September 7, 2022 AmCham Armenia held a serial Legal Committee Meeting at the Ramada Hotel and Suites Yerevan. AmCham hosted 2 special guests from the Arbitration Center in addition to 10 committee members and the AmCham executive team. With the recent amendment to the Law and Trade and Services, certain regulations applied to discounts and sales promotion activities by retailers, certain members raised concerns which called for the meeting to happen. A discussion occurred on existing issues with Georgian tax authorities, and it was suggested to escalate the issue to the state authorities. A presentation was done by Mr. Tigran Dadunts Director, and Mr. Davit Gharibyan, Deputy Director, Legal-Expert of the Center for Legislation Development and Legal Research Foundation that addressed the plan for the creation of the Arbitration Center of Armenia. At the conclusion of the meeting it was decided to have fixed serial meetings every other month, with the possibility to call an extraordinary Committee meeting when necessary.
