Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2014

 

On October 28, 2014, AmCham held its fourteenth Annual General Meeting (AGM). Total of 44 AmCham members attended the AGM. The number of voting members, including proxy votes, was 34.  U.S. Embassy representatives Elizabeth Hanny (Economic and Commercial Officer) and Tigran Tananyan (Commercial Assistant) were also present at the meeting. Two main items on the agenda were discussing AmCham achievements up to date and electing AmCham Board of Directors.

 

AmCham President David Atanessian called the meeting to order, after each the members  introduced themselves.  AmCham CEO delivered a presentation on AmCham activities since the last AGM, which also included the financial reports of the organization. After the presentation Ms. Gaziyan answered the questions of the members.  

 

AmCham President put forward the issue of AmCham Business Magazine for the members` discussion and solicited their opinions on whether members wanted AmCham to continue publicizing the Magazine in its current format. Different opinions were expressed on this topic, such as continuing the Magazine as it is, reducing the number of publications and introducing AmCham newsletter in addition to the magazine, etc. It was decided that this issue would be included on the agenda of the AmCham Board Meeting and addressed taking into account the opinions of members. Another issue which was discussed was strengthening AmCham Public Relations component, the avenues for which would be again addressed by AmCham Board of Directors.

 

David Atanessian announced that he would not run for the AmCham President`s position and announced two potential candidates, namely David Bequette of Davan Group and Tigran Jrbashyan of Ameria Management Advisory Services. Both candidates presented their programs, based on their vision of future development of AmCham and took questions from members.

 

David Atanessian proceeded with the explanation of the rules and procedures for voting and introduced the tellers, AmCham staff members Kristina Vardanyan and Armine Davtyan. The CEO announced the names of proxies. 

 

The General Meeting proceeded with electing the Board Officers, with the following results:

George Isayan of LTX Credence - Second Vice-President/Treasurer

 

After announcing the names of the new Board Officers, David Atanessian asked two new candidates for the Board Directors positions, namely Aprine Gharagyozyan of GSK and Ekaterina Mamaeva of EY to introduce themselves and their companies. Both candidates delivered short speeches, after which the Board Directors` election commenced. The results were as follows:

After announcing and congratulating the new Board, the CEO thanked former AmCham President David Atanessian for his hard work and devotion to AmCham.

 

The meeting was announced adjourned and members were invited to a wine reception.
